SASSA Takes Solutions to Fernie Local Community

Tuesday, August 27, 2024

The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) in Mpumalanga is currently viewing the Fernie 2 Group Hall in Mpuluzi to render services for the community.

SASSA will be rendering services such as new social grant applications, change of payment method, client care enquiries, together with the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) COVID-19 grant enquiries.

In an announcement, the agency said it is actually alarmed regarding the higher amount of people relying on social grants for survival.
“The purpose in the Integrated Registration Outreach Programme [ICROP] is to reach-out to the large range of clients/beneficiaries to access SASSA services.

“This really is because of the lack of infrastructure at Fernie and there's no thoroughly functional office committed to service the area every day. The service issue designed for intervention encounters a large influx of potential beneficiaries, which makes it tough with the office to attend to all people who visit a SRD service point.

“In this reach-out programme, SASSA will mobilise additional assets to enable the servicing of all shoppers and improve usage of Social Assistance providers,” the agency said.
